DAN DODD
Dan Dodd is the owner and founder of TriState Training LLC. As an athlete, Dan is a nationally ranked Olympic Lifter, Team USA International athlete, and two-time Crossfit regional athlete. In 2023, Dan won the American Open Finals taking home two gold medals and one bronze medal, solidifying his rank as #1 in the nation. In 2020, Dan won the American Open 1 at The Arnold Classic as well. Dan continues to pursue his weightlifting career and is excited for the opportunities yet to come
As a coach, Dan is a National weightlifting coach holding a Level-3 USAW and CFL1 certifications. Dan has a BS in Health and Exercise Science as well as a MS in Exercise Physiology. Dan’s philosophy on training is based on developing a strong mindset, learning proper movement patterns, and creating opportunities for excellence in athletics.
TAYLOR PAYNE MAGINNIS
Taylor Payne Maginnis is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, American Open Series qualifier, former Division 1 Strength Coach, and has been competing in weightlifting events for over six years. Taylor’s background grants her the unique ability to coach athletes through the lens of a physical therapist, collegiate strength coach, and competitive weightlifter all in one.
JOE MATTERA
Joe Mattera is a dedicated educator with over ten years of experience teaching middle school and a passionate athlete with a competitive background in weightlifting, marathons, ultramarathons, and obstacle course races. As a Level-2 USAWL Certified coach, Joe is committed to tailoring his approach to meet the individual needs of each athlete. Drawing from his experience in the classroom, he understands that every person learns differently, and he applies this philosophy to weightlifting by providing the right tools, support, and guidance to ensure safe and efficient training for all.
ELISE BURKHARDT
Elise is a USA Weightlifting L2 coach and found her love of weightlifting through the sport of CrossFit. She has been competing in local weightlifting competitions for years and had her national debut at the American Open Series in 2021. In early 2023, Elise was challenged with setbacks due to injury, and focused heavily on mental attitude while rebuilding strength. After a year of rebuilding, Elise was able to re-qualify and compete in the AO Series again. When coaching, she hopes to instill mental fortitude and confidence to newcomers and veteran weightlifters alike.
TANYA LABELL
My name is Tanya LaBell, and I started my journey in CrossFit with 10 years of experience, competing in numerous high-level competitions, along with a strong background in weightlifting. I've been with TriState Barbell for 3 years, combining my athletic expertise with my career as a high school PE teacher and sports performance coach. My diverse background in track, gymnastics, and dance has provided me with the foundation to develop a well-rounded coaching style.
As a weightlifter, I’ve competed at USAW Nationals, earned 1st place overall at Masters Nationals, and qualified for both the American Open Series and Finals. My passion for coaching drives me to help others achieve their goals, and I believe this dedication is what makes me an effective and motivating coach.
